New ESA Education sponsorship opportunities to participate in a sounding rocket programme
The European Space Agency (ESA), in collaboration with the Norwegian Centre for Space-related Education (NAROM) and the Norwegian Space Centre (NSC), has announced that it is now accepting applications for the inaugural Fly a rocket! programme.
The Fly a rocket! programme is open for individual approaches now and the deadline for applications is 23rd October.
Up to twenty European students will be selected and taken through an online training course - with personalised feedback - teaching students about everything from rocket dynamics to satellite orbits.
In March 2017, the selected students will be invited to the Andøya Space Center in Northern Noway, where they will form teams to construct, test and launch their own sounding rocket. Attendance, including travel and accomodation is sponsored by ESA, NAROM and the NSC.
ESA is particularly interested in applications from bachelors students in their first and second year of studies who may be considering a career in space or related industries.
